I’m up to something new around here, besides the obvious overwhelming move to Kearney. I’m part of an awesome group of photographers who collaborate each month in a blog circle. Here’s how it works. Each month, there is a theme and we all get our creative juices flowing, and just for fun, we write a post on our interpretation of the theme. It’s fun and it’s a great way for me to reach outside the box and have FUN, without taking pictures of clients. It’s also the first month I’ve gotten my life together enough to participate – so I am very anxious for the opportunity, which I’m using to take photo’s of my life more, which has fallen to the back burner too much lately. So, I hope you will follow along each month.
AIR. This month’s theme is AIR. When I first thought of “air”, after thinking how hard this was, I thought of home. I thought of Chadron, and everything around us that I grew up with. I think about the open spaces, and how just around the corner from an open field are pine trees and rolling hills. My kids love to be outside, to enjoy the “air” more than anything else we do together. So over a few days in the past few weeks, including Mother’s Day, we went out to do what we love best, play outside. We went to the State Park, we went to an old house I like to take pictures of, but have never taken my kids too, and we just played.
Air is home, and soon that “home” will change for us. I will dearly miss my home here, and what I’ve known for the better part of my life, but home is where we are, not matter where that is. And soon our AIR will just be in a different place, a different timezone, but still together. We will learn to love it, and most importantly, we are still the same people, breathing the same air, just in a different home.
